Mrs. Colbert has over 15 years of experience in the non-profit, public, and private sectors including administration, community education, public policy, social work, leadership development, youth empowerment, housing, and substance abuse. Her desire to make the world a better place has led her strong commitment to low-income communities.
Ms. Colbert is currently the Program Coordinator at Crystal Stairs, Inc. In her current role, she is responsible for administering and monitoring the California Department Education (CDE) childcare subsidy contracts. She ensures contract compliance by developing and implementing policies and procedures, training, and quality control measures and quality assurance outcomes. She manages a department of 70 employees. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”959″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Prior to her current professional endeavors, Ms. Colbert had increasingly responsible experience in housing management as a Program Analyst and supervisor where she developed and implemented policies and procedures for the HUD Section 8 Programs. She ensured that all program indicators were met each year.
Ms. Colbert has received her BA in Social Work from Grambling State University in 1997, her Masters in Public Administration from San Francisco State University in 2004. Ms. Colbert is also a graduate of the Los Angeles African American Women Public Policy Institute (LAAAWPPI) in 2013. And she is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Public Policy and Administration at Walden University.
Ms. Colbert involvement with the community and her desires to improve the lives of families through civic engagement and advocacy. Her actions and leadership roles have coined her as “a public servant”.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
