The newest member of the HEROS Team, as a Clinical Supervisor, is Nina Fox. Nina is a licensed clinical social worker, having worked in the behavioral health field for over 17 years.  She graduated from Minnesota State University with her Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Sociology and Corrections, and the University of Minnesota with a Master of Social Work focusing on Adult Mental Health and Medical Social Work.  Nina is also a graduate of the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences in Medical Social Work.  Her experience includes, working as a(n):  ABA Therapist (Applied Behavioral Analyst) with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. Community Corrections Mentor for youth  Youth Counselor with corrections and social services in Minnesota and Arizona Emergency Inpatient and Outpatient Psychiatric Care in Maricopa County, Phoenix, Arizona  Working with Veterans through the HUDVASH Program (HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing) Therapy Services for First Responders and their families.   Nina spent a number of years as a psychometrist  for the Mayo Clinic conducting neuropsychological testing and research development.  She continues to  help individuals of all ages overcome barriers they have faced and achieve quality of life through individual assessment and therapy. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and specializes in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; Issues related to complex and generational trauma, relationship dynamics, cultural identity, and injury and age related cognitive impairments. She has a passion for fitness and sports, and practices identifying the relationship between the mind and the body and keeping both connected to overcome trauma, and present barriers that keep an individual from reaching their full potential. She believes; “You can’t go wrong when you are doing what is right, for yourself! Life happens to everyone, and our past shapes us. Investing in and learning oneself can help identify and uncover unhealthy patterns that have been preventing you from feeling confident and in control. I can help you overcome barriers, end generational trauma, stop unhealthy patterns, help you regain your confidence, and find balance in your life.
